ABSTRACT:
In a webbing take-up device10, a worm gear34, which is connected to a motor44, engages with a gear wheel32, and when the worm gear34rotates, driving force is transmitted via the gear wheel32and a clutch26, whereby a take-up shaft20is rotated in a take-up direction. Helix angles of teeth of the worm gear34and the gear wheel32are set so that thrust force generated at this time along the axial direction of the gear wheel32faces a leg plate16fixed side of a case30. Accordingly, because the thrust force acts on the leg plate16fixed side of the case30, i.e., on a frame12, there is no need to provide the case30or a cover clutch31with high strength and rigidity.
