ABSTRACT:
Water soluble biocidal water treatment perhalides of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently hydrogen, hydroxyethyl, alkyl, cyclic alkyl, (alpha, omega)-alkyl, alkyl ether, polyether, heterocyclic ring-substituted alkyl, and halogenated alkyl; X is chlorine, bromine or iodine; and only one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be hydrogen.
