ABSTRACT:
Silica and silicates having a water content of less than 0.5% by weight and specific surface areas of 25 to 300 (.+-. 25) m.sup.2 /g. by the BET procedure are employed as light fillers for the vulcanization of natural rubber and synthetic elastomers with or without counter pressure.
