ABSTRACT:
A heat exchanger heats fresh air moving to a product dryer by running the fresh air around hot exhaust tubes which are discharging from the dryer. Detergent sprays may be positioned to direct cleaning fluid into the tubes. The fresh air is introduced into a pre-dryer through pipes having nozzles which are at 30.degree. angles to the product path.
