ABSTRACT:
An air gap switch is operated by a non-conductive rotatable indexing cam switch which rotates relative to two electrical contacts resiliently disposed on opposite sides of the cam. A spider with depending conductive legs is mounted on the cam. Rotation of the cam alternatively connects and disconnects the electrical contacts wherein the connection, when made, is completed through the conductive spider located on the cam. The cam is operated, pushbutton style, by depressing a main shaft relative to the housing of the air switch. The main shaft engages projections on the index cam which step the cam through a plurality of index positions.
