ABSTRACT:
A video signal recording/reproducing apparatus in which video tracks continuously arranged on a magnetic tape are sequentially and periodically classified into first to fourth tracks. A video signal is recorded on the first track such that its phase is alternately inverted for every other horizontal scanning period. A video signal is recorded on the second track such that its phase is kept noninverted. A video signal is recorded on the third track such that its phase is alternately inverted for every other horizontal scanning period in the order opposite to that in the first track. A video signal is recorded on the fourth track such that its phase is inverted. In the reproduction mode, the phases of the reproduction signals are aligned. The reproduction signal is processed together with a corresponding 1H delay signal.
