ABSTRACT:
A color signal synthesis network suitable for use in a video games system includes a source of four mutually quadrature phased reference signals derived from a common source, a plurality of color signal transmission gates, and a plurality of resistive weighting and combining networks for coupling selected ones of the quadrature signals to an input of each gate. The values of resistors forming each weighting network determine the ratio of the amplitudes of the selected quadrature signals coupled thereby. The signals coupled by the weighting resistors are combined at the input of each gate to produce a resultant synthesized color signal having a color determining phase which is established by the vector sum of the weighted signal amplitudes. Each gate is enabled at appropriate times during each image scanning interval in response to applied control signals, to conduct the associated synthesized color signal to succeeding composite video signal encoding and processing circuits.
