ABSTRACT:
When the decoding of video data is repeatedly started and interrupted, a data demultiplexer prevents a video synchronizing signal from being discontinued and hence prevents a displayed image from being disturbed immediately after the video data is decoded. When a data demultiplexing start time SCR and a decoding start time DTSV are read from a multiplexed bit stream, an initial STC value: initial.sub.-- STC is calculated according to the equation:
