ABSTRACT:
A vibrator 1 of a vibrating gyro includes a cylindrical vibrating body 2 made of a piezoelectric ceramic and three electrodes 3, 4, and 5 formed symmetrically with respect to an axis of symmetry 8. A driver power source S0 applies an AC voltage V across the common electrode 3 and the other two electrodes 4, 5 via current detector/driver means 20 and 30, which include an operational amplifier 21 and 31 and a feedback resistor 22 and 32. The outputs of the current detector/driver means 20 and 30 corresponding to the currents i.sub.L and I.sub.R flowing through the electrodes 4 and 5 are input to a differential amplifier 40, the output of which represents the angular velocity of the vibrator 1.
