ABSTRACT:
A vibration-damping composite sheet steel made by sandwiching a viscoelastic material between two steel sheets. A rust proofing coating which generates no gaseous matter is formed on one surface of each of the steel sheets which is contacted with the viscoelastic material. The coating is a phosphate coating having no water of crystallization with a coating weight per unit area of 0.5 g/m.sup.2 or over, or a galvanized zinc coating including no zinc oxide.
