ABSTRACT:
A vehicle safety restraint for pregnant women is provided which includes first and second restraint members which are interconnected to one another by a common element. The common element is removably mounted on a seat of the vehicle. The first restraint members, when in an operative mode, encompass the upper torso region of the woman. The second restraint members, when in an operative mode, encompass in the groin area thigh regions of the woman. When in the operative mode, the first and second restraint members are spaced from the gravid uterus region of the woman thereby avoiding trauma in the latter region if the vehicle should suddenly stop.
