ABSTRACT:
energy between a radio transceiver located inside a vehicle and an external radiator mounted on the outside thereof. By this arrangement, a user of the radio transceiver can gain benefit from the external radiator without the hinderance of a physical, wired connection linking the transceiver to the antenna assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the antenna system operates without any electrical cable extending inside the vehicle from the external radiator..!.A mobile cellular antenna system includes an auxiliary antenna that is positioned inside the passenger compartment of a vehicle and is coupled to the radiator on the exterior of the vehicle. This arrangement permits users of portable or transportable cellular telephones with built-in antennas to gain transmission and reception advantage from the exterior antenna while operating from within the passenger compartment.
