ABSTRACT:
A variable support apparatus for supporting anatomical body weight. A supporting cusion, such as a mattress or a seat cushion, is provided with at least one relief device at a given location normally under a particular anatomical body area of a user. The relief device is periodically drawn inwardly or toward the bottom surface of the supporting cushion, compressing at least a portion of the cushion, to thereby provide pressure relief at that given location.
