ABSTRACT:
An extended fire-extinguishing discharge system discharges a fire-extinguishing material at a predetermined mass flow rate. The extended discharge system includes an extended discharge container filled with a fire-extinguishing material, at least one discharge nozzle connected with the extended discharge container for discharging the fire-extinguishing material into a protected space, and a variable pressure controller interconnected between the container and the discharge nozzle. The fire extinguishing material flows through the variable pressure controller which produces a regulated pressure as a function of the inlet pressure to the variable pressure controller. By varying the regulated pressure, the extended discharge system of the present invention is able to maintain a mass flow rate within a predetermined optimum range at any temperature of the fire-extinguishing material.
