ABSTRACT:
A computerized bottle checker which detects the reflection or transmission of light from a rotating bottle to be checked for flaws. A bottle is rejected if the light exceeds a predetermined threshold level for a time period falling between a minimum and a maximum time. The threshold level can be automatically determined by testing a standard bottle with a known flaw and setting the threshold level to a constant fraction of the peak level for a complete rotation of the bottle. The minimum and maximum times can be set to constant fractions of the time period for which the light from the standard bottle exceeds the threshold.
