ABSTRACT:
An exercise apparatus having cables pullable against varying resistance along one or more horizontal arms adjustable as to height, length and as to the angle of the arms to each other and to the frame of the apparatus, the arms being telescoping for positioning the distal ends of the arms at any desired position in the volumetric area defined by semi-cylindrical surfaces, representing the swinging of the arms through their possible arcs at their fully extended and retracted positions, and extending for the total vertical height in which the arms are capable of being positioned. A takeup device provides for cable adjustment, and various weights provide adjustable resistance. A cable spool having a spiral conical groove is mounted on a shaft with a constant diameter spool for providing increasing resistance as the cable is pulled from the arms by the user.
