ABSTRACT:
A plurality of pistons of a variable displacement compressor are reciprocatably disposed in cylinder bores which are formed in a housing. A drive shaft is rotatably supported in the housing. A lug plate is rotatable with the drive shaft. A swash plate is tiltably and slidably mounted on the drive shaft. The swash plate is operatively coupled with the pistons. A hinge mechanism connects the lug plate and the swash plate. The hinge mechanism causes the pistons to reciprocate via the lug plate and the swash plate, in response to the rotational motion of the drive shaft. The hinge mechanism includes a pin, which has a first and a second end portions. The first end portion of the pin is slidably inserted into the swash plate. A support arm protrudes from the lug plate, and further includes a bush. The bush rotatably supports the second end portion of the pin.
