ABSTRACT:
An apparatus includes a valve member configured to be reciprocatably disposed within a valve pocket defined by an interior surface of a cylinder head. The valve member has a tapered portion defining multiple flow passages and including multiple sealing portions. At least one sealing portion is disposed adjacent each flow passage and is configured to contact a portion of the interior surface of the cylinder head such that each flow passage is configured to be fluidically isolated from an area outside of the cylinder head.
