ABSTRACT:
Sucrose yield of sugarcane is increased by treating the cane crop a few weeks prior to harvest with a certain type of polycyclic thiophene compound of the formula ##SPC1##
Wherein X is cyano, carboalkoxy or carbamido and Y is an amino or substituted amino group, or with mixtures comprising one or more such compounds.
