ABSTRACT:
Human skin is depigmented or bleached by applying thereto a compound of formula (1): ##STR1## wherein X represents COOH or the ring: ##STR2## wherein Z.sub.1, Z.sub.2 and Z.sub.3, independently of each other, are H, OR or R, R representing an optionally substituted saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl radical, or a salt, a metal complex or an ester of the compound.
