ABSTRACT:
There is provided a process for producing aromatic hydrocarbons enriched in benzene content. The process involves contacting one or more C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 non-aromatic hydrocarbons, such as propylene, with a catalyst containing a zeolite, such as ZSM-5. The proportion of benzene in the aromatics produced is increased by including hydrogen sulfide (i.e. H.sub.2 S) in the feedstock.
