ABSTRACT:
The method for reducing microbial activity which comprises administering an effective amount of aminohydroxy stearic acid amides of the formula ##STR1## wherein n=1 and a=7, n=2 and a=4, or n=3 and a=1 and wherein one of A and B represents a hydroxyl group and the other of A and B, and X, each represent a radical of the formula ##STR2## wherein b is an integer of from 2 to 6, m is 1 or 2, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl radical having from about 1 to 12 carbon atoms.
