ABSTRACT:
An upsetting method capable of executing diameter expansion of a diameter expansion scheduled portion of a raw material unevenly in a peripheral direction is provided. A guide20having an insertion hole21for receiving and holding the diameter expansion scheduled portion2of the raw material1in a buckling preventing state is prepared. A diameter expansion preventing protruded portion22protruded in an axial direction of the guide20is integrally formed at a part of a tip end portion20aof the guide20. The diameter expansion scheduled portion2of the raw material1secured to the fixed die10is inserted and held in an insertion hole21of the guide20. Subsequently the diameter expansion scheduled portion2of the raw material1exposed between the tip end portion20aof the guide20and the fixed die10is expanded in diameter in a state in which diameter expansion of a contacting portion of the diameter expansion scheduled portion2in contact with the guide protruded portion22is restrained by moving the guide20in a direction opposite to a moving direction of the punch30while moving a punch30and pressurizing the diameter expansion scheduled portion2of the raw material1with the punch30in an axial direction.
