ABSTRACT:
An upsetting method high in productivity of an upsetting manufactured product is provided. An extruder11and a closed-die20divided into two pieces are prepared. The divided members21and21of the closed-die are combined with each other so that the tip end portion of an extrusion nozzle13is arranged in a cavity25of the closed-die20with the extruded raw material1extruded from the extrusion opening15of the extrusion nozzle13of the extruder11. With this, the closed-die20is formed, and the extruded raw material1is clamped by and between clamping portions22and22provided at both the divided members21and21. Subsequently, while extruding the extruded raw material1from the extrusion opening15of the extrusion nozzle13by the extruder11, both the divided members21and21are moved in the forward direction with respect to the extrusion direction of the extruded raw material1at a speed slower than the extrusion speed in a state in which the extruded raw material1is clamped by and between the clamping portions22and22of both the divided members21and21. Thereby, the exposed portion2of the extruded raw material1exposed between the extrusion opening15of the extrusion nozzle13and the clamping portions22of both the divided members21and21is expanded in diameter in the cavity25.
