ABSTRACT:
An uninterruptible power supply apparatus, enabling to detect an interruption on a commercial power supply, with certainty, to be turned into a battery operation, but not due to a momentary voltage-drop, unnecessarily, comprises: a rectifier (REC)210for converting an AD power inputted from a commercial power supply100into a AC power; an inverter (INV)220for converting the DC electric power into a desired AC power, to be supplied to a load300; a battery230connected between those; a controller circuit250for controlling those power converters; and further, an interruption detection circuit260made from a frequency detection circuit, as a means for detecting an abnormality on the AC power inputted from the commercial power supply, whereby detecting the interruption, without responding to the momentary voltage-drop, while the controller circuit has a limiter253for protecting the rectifier from overload when the momentary voltage-drop occurs.
