ABSTRACT:
To permit vision underwater, a contact lens has a center portion that includes underwater correction of vision and a peripheral portion that sufficiently conforms in curvature with the cornea of an eye to hold the contact lens to the eye. In one embodiment, the lens provides a correction adequate for both underwater and above water use and in another embodiment, underwater correction is provided when wet and above water correction is provided when dry.
