An ultrasound probe obtained by arranging, on a backing10, a plurality of transducers each of which comprising a piezoelectric transducer20, an acoustic lens40, and an acoustic matching layer provided between the piezoelectric transducer20and the acoustic lens40, the acoustic matching layer containing a fibrous material, and the direction of fibers in the fibrous material being perpendicular to the direction of sound waves.
