ABSTRACT:
The forming of an inlaid article by carving the object to be inlaid into the article with ultrasonic energy to form a recess having the same peripheral configuration as the object, and then positioning the object within the ultrasonically carved recess in the article such that upon securing the object within the recess the object forms the inlaid portion of the article.
