ABSTRACT:
Optical components and highly-polished metal surfaces are cleaned with a first composition comprising 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, isopropyl alcohol, dimethylformamide and 2-ethoxyethanol; then, while the surface is still wet with said first composition, a second composition, comprising at least about 85% 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane and containing less than 10 ppm of non-volatile residues, is applied to rinse the surface; and the surface is permitted to dry.
