ABSTRACT:
In a SAW filter, first and second geometrically parallel two-port SAW resonators, each operable in triple longitudinal modes having first through third resonance peaks in a descending frequency order, are electrically parallel connected on a piezoelectric substrate to have lower and higher frequency passbands with the first and the second resonance peaks of the lower frequency passband brought into substantial coincidence in frequency with the second and the third resonance peaks of the higher frequency passband. In order to achieve the substantial coincidence, design parameters are optionally selected as regards a transducer space between input and output interdigital transducers in the first and in the second SAW resonators, numbers of pairs of interdigital electrodes of the input and the output interdigital transducers of the first and the second SAW resonators, and a reflector space between one of the input and the output interdigital transducers and an adjacent one of grating reflectors arranged on both longitudinal sides of the interdigital transducers in the first and in the second SAW resonators. The number of pairs may be 500 in each of the input and the output interdigital transducers of each SAW resonator.
