ABSTRACT:
A life preserver or other body-buoying equipment is provided with straps extending from its opposite sides, and the two pieces of a buckle are fastened to the respective ends of the straps. The two pieces of the buckle can be engaged with one another and disengaged only when the pieces are swiveled toward one another at an angle of less than 90.degree.. The invention includes the two-piece buckle itself as well as the combination of the two pieces of the buckle on the ends of the belt means extending from the sides of such body-buoying equipment.
