ABSTRACT:
A two-cycle internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber, an exhaust port and a scavenging port each opening into the combustion chamber. The opening area of each of the exhaust port and the scavenging port is made as small as possible in relation to the engine displacement so as to restrict the revolutions of the engine crank shaft during a rated output operation of the engine. The width in the lateral direction of the opening of the exhaust port corresponds to an angle of 60.degree. as measured from the center of the combustion chamber, and the width in the lateral direction of the opening of the scavenging port corresponds to an angle of 32.degree. as measured from the center of the combustion chamber.
