ABSTRACT:
Each cooling roll has parallel grooves formed in the peripheral surface thereof so as to extend in a direction which crosses the direction of the roll axis. The grooves on one of the cooling rolls are at a phase difference from the grooves on the other cooling roll. The grooves are arranged at a pitch of 0.05 to 3.0 mm and each of the grooves has a width of 0.01 to 1.0 mm and a depth of 0.03 to 0.5 mm.
