ABSTRACT:
A tuner for use in a cable modem of the present invention includes a reception processing section for processing downstream signals supplied from a cable line and a return path circuit for processing upstream signals outputted from the cable modem toward the cable line, and the return path circuit is provided with a return path amplification circuit58. This makes it possible to reduce development costs and development time for the tuner as well as to realize downsizing of the cable modem itself and improvement in transmission characteristic.
