ABSTRACT:
A constant velocity joint is provided with a hollow outer part with three axially extending grooves distributed on the periphery thereof, an inner part having three outwardly extending trunnions rotatably carrying three rollers, the trunnions being situated in the grooves of the outer part. Between the rollers and the groove walls, guides for the transmission of the tangential forces at least for one torque direction are provided; the guides being movable relative to the outer part. The relative axial motion of the inner to the outer parts, being the plunge of the joint, is divided into a primary plunge between the inner part and the guides and a secondary or residual plunge between the guides and the outer part.
