ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to novel tricyclic derivatives of 7-substituted-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydroquinol-4-one-3-carboxylic acids and certain esters and cation salts thereof. The compounds of this invention are substituted at the 7-position by vinyl, W--CH.dbd.CH--, CH.sub.3 C.tbd.C--, W--CH.sub.2 C.tbd.C-- or ##STR1## where W is selected from certain substituted alkyl groups. This invention also relates to antibacterial compositions containing the compounds and methods of using the compounds to treat bacterial disease.
