ABSTRACT:
A lubricant composition comprising a lubricating oil susceptible to degradation by a metal; and b) a metal deactivator having the formula I: ##STR1## in which X formula II: ##STR2## in which R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl.
