ABSTRACT:
This invention pertains to a method of treating diseases caused by Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types 1 and 2. Disclosed herein is a method of treatment that, through the use of Tetraethylammonium Ion (TEA) achieves a selective and specific inhibition of viral function in diseases causes by HSV Types 1 and 2. TEA can be provided in the form of its chloride salt, unpreserved for individual doses, or with preservatives for multiple dose vials.
