ABSTRACT:
A transparent composite armor providing complete protection for small arms rojectiles up to and including caliber .50 AP M2 projectiles consisting of two or more layers of transparent material having a hard frangible face plate backed by one or more tough resilient plates to absorb the excess impact force after contact with the face plate, the several plates being bonded together with a suitable transparent adhesive.
