ABSTRACT:
A transmission and reception system, in which during transmission a background picture and objects #1to #3are transmitted at a transmission rate of R/4 each. On the reception side, a picture composed of the objects #1to #3and the background picture is displayed with a particular spatial resolution and a particular temporal resolution. When the object #1is dragged at a particular time t1, on the transmission side, the transmission of the background picture and the objects #2and #3is stopped. Only the object #1is transmitted at the transmission rate of R of the transmission path. Thus, a picture of which the spatial resolution of the object #1dragged is improved at the sacrifice of the temporal resolution of the picture.
