ABSTRACT:
An outdoor unit of a transmitter-receiver apparatus notifies an indoor unit of normal operation by transmitting an unmodulated carrier to the indoor unit via a cable when operation is normal, notifies the indoor unit of an abnormality by transmitting a monitor signal, which is obtained by modulating a carrier by alarm data, to the indoor unit when operation is abnormal, and restores the carrier to the unmodulated state at recovery from the abnormality. Further, the indoor unit transmits an unmodulated carrier to the outdoor unit via the cable if it is unnecessary to send a control signal, and transmits a modulated control signal, which is obtained by modulating a carrier by control data, to the outdoor unit via the cable if it is necessary to send a control signal. As a result, phase noise and the characteristic of spuriousness in the vicinity of the local oscillation frequency are unaffected even if the unmodulated carrier leaks into the reference frequency signal system. As a result, no deterioration is caused in the quality of the communication system.
