ABSTRACT:
The transition metal-containing hydrophobic silica has a BET specific surface area of 40 to 450 m.sup.2 /g, a carbon content, obtained by the imparting of hydrophobic properties, of at least 0.5% by weight and a transition metal content of 10 to 10,000 ppm by weight. The hydrophobic silica is used as a heat stabilizer in addition-crosslinking 2-component silicone rubber materials.
