To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device in which an amount of reflected light can be increased in a reflective mode. A liquid crystal panel10has a first glass substrate101and a second glass substrate105. A backlight11is placed on the outside of the liquid crystal panel10. A transmissive region102has a rectangular shape and is arranged in the center of the pixel. A reflective region103is arranged around the transmissive region102. A reflecting layer104is formed in the reflective region103of the first glass substrate101. A scattering layer106is formed in the transmissive region102of the second glass substrate105.
