A flexible three-layer transducer wherein the layers are vertically stacked nd are coextensive with each other, the middle layer having twice the thickness of any one of the outer layers, and electrodes between and on the outside surface of the layers for conveying signals from the layers, said layers are made from PVDF or flexible piezoceramic sheets.
