ABSTRACT:
A traction drive fluid comprising as a base stock at least one hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of compounds of the following general formulae (I) to (V) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, independently from each other, represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9 and R.sup.10, independently from each other, represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
