ABSTRACT:
The structure and operation of a brake1′ associated with an electric motor driven chain hoist2′, according to FIG.6, are exactly the same as those of the manually operated system, except that a shaft4a′ of the electric motor rotor4′ as well as an extension4b′ thereof form a drive shaft and the second cam part 6, the brake disc/clutch disc arrangement9, 10, 8, a driven input shaft7′ of a hoisting apparatus2′ and the hoisting apparatus2′ itself are arranged between an electric motor3′ and the first cam part5on the drive shaft4b′ in such a manner that the second cam part6with the components8, 9fastened thereto may rotate therein and move axially and the input shaft7′ of the driven hoisting apparatus2′ may rotate, since the rotor4′ is placed on the opposite side of the system compared with the manually operated system shown in FIGS.1to4so that the extension4b′ of the shaft4a′ of the rotor4′ has to move through the input shaft7′. Parts25′ and26′ of a body13′ of the brake are also shaped differently but operate similarly.
