ABSTRACT:
An interchangeable tool mounting device, which is particularly adapted for retaining turret lathe center drills in a desired position, includes an elongated body portion having at least one center drill receiving passage extending inwardly from at least one end thereof. The passage is adapted to receive a standard size center drill and includes a cylindrical portion and a tapered inner end portion of frusto-conical shape. Abutment surfaces or pins are provided in the tool receiving passage, and flutes formed on the center drill abut against the abutting surfaces or pins to position the center drill relative to the mounting device.
