ABSTRACT:
A tool (4) is part of a bag forming machine (1) for deforming a plain web of wrapping material (33) into a tube for producing bags containing goods. The tool (4) includes a filling pipe (3) and a forming shoulder (2) including a movable first part (7), a movable second part (8), a stationary third part (13) and a channel (18) housing the filling pipe (3). The filling pipe (3) and the channel (18) form a passage gap (27) allowing for passage of the wrapping material (33). The first and second parts (7, 8) are pivotable with respect to one another such that they can be moved into a closed position and into an opened position while approximately moving in a radial direction (29with respect to the surface of the filling pipe (3) and perpendicular to the tubular wrapping material (33) to prevent clamping or squeezing of the wrapping material (33).
