ABSTRACT:
A toner and a method for the preparation of toner particles essentially consisting of monodisperse spherical thermoplastic particles having a coefficient of variation below 30 per cent and a mean diameter between 2 and 50 .mu.m, the particles having a shell of polymeric material in which a colorant is distributed. The particles are prepared by treating monodispersed spherical polymerized base particles with a shell-polymer and a colorant and contacted to give a uniform distribution of the additives on the base particles whereafter the shell-polymer is fused to the base particles.
