A toner for developing an electrophotographic image and a method for forming an electrophotographic image using the toner. The toner comprises a binder and a colorant, in which a volume average diameter of the toner particles, Dv in .mu.m, and a storage modulus at 170.degree. C. thereof, G'.sub.170 in dyne/cm.sup.2, satisfy the following relation;
